BR-9: seller country code missing
The seller postal address (BG-5) does not contain a country code (BT-40). This field is separate from the VAT number check (BR-CO-9): it's the country of the physical address, required even if the seller has no VAT number.

Affected field
BT-40 Seller country code / cac:PostalAddress/cac:Country/cbc:IdentificationCode (UBL) / ram:PostalTradeAddress/ram:CountryID (CII)
Cause
The address was entered without a country (often because the field isn't mandatory in the invoicing software's UI for a domestic business), or the country is spelled out ("France") instead of the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code (FR).
Fix
Set the upper-case two-letter country code in cac:PostalAddress/cac:Country/cbc:IdentificationCode (UBL) or ram:CountryID (CII), on the seller address. For France: FR.
Check your invoice for this and other errors.

Frequently asked questions
My software does have a country set — why the error?▼
Check that the export sends the two-letter ISO code, not the spelled-out country name. "France" is not a valid code; it must be FR.
Is this field linked to the VAT number?▼
No, these are two separate rules. BR-9 checks the postal address country (BT-40). BR-CO-9 checks that the VAT number starts with a consistent country prefix. An invoice can fail one without failing the other.
